Health & Safety Communication

A good loss-control program is achieved through developing and defining safe work communications and guidelines. These must be reenforced often and consistently. By achieving these standards, you will develop the desired safety culture for all employees to follow. This culture becomes part of their daily work demeanor and provides a safety-proactive environment.

How do you develop this?

COMMUNICATION AND CONSISTENCY!

Each company division and location is provided with a "HEALTH & SAFETY BINDER".
Within this binder are sections depicting:

- The Company's Safety Policy
- The Company's Hazard Communication Plan
- The Employees "Right To Know"
- Injury Guidelines
- Personal Injury Reports
- Property Damage Report
- Emergency Action Plans (Fire & Severe Weather)
- Material Safety Data Sheets
- Monthly Safety Review Topics
- Company Emergency Contact Listings.

Each binder's information is specific to the location and is easily recognizable and accessible. This allows CONSISTENT SAFETY COMMUNICATION throughout our large diverse company. Presently, 42 Health & Safety binders have been distributed throughout Molo Quint LLC. This information is also available to all employees electronically within the company data base system.

Each and every employee, from the management level on down, is constantly reminded to work together as a team, always to achieve the goal of a safe, healthy workforce and workplace. The success of our Company Safety Program requires the combined efforts of all management, supervision and employees.

The following are some examples of our consistent safety awareness procedures:

- Any employee injury, accident, mishap, near miss, etc., is investigated within 24 hours by the Corporate Safety Director.

- The Corporate Safety Director provides to all management a monthly Safety Topic for their employees to review and acknowledge by signing off.

- Employees are periodically given the opportunity to individually perform a written "Risk Analysis" of their job tasks and work site. These are submitted to their manager for review and/or corrective action. The Corporate Safety Director, upon management request, assists in the corrective action.

- The Corporate Safety Director performs quarterly "on site" Safety Inspections and Risk Assessments of the various locations throughout the company. He also interviews employees and obtains their safety views and concerns.

- All Warehousing locations perform a monthly written inspection check list which is Safety oriented. Fire Extinguishers, Exit Lighting, Material Stacked safely are just some of the areas covered on this check list.
